How to light it
- Place a sod on the slate burner or another heat-proof surface.
- Light the tip until it glows.
- Gently blow out the flame and let it smoulder.

We have an inbuilt fire which looks real enough but lacks that real fire smell and cosiness.. The Irish turf incense is the missing part of our ambience....When lit it completely adds an authentic log fire smell to our home and I love it! The little basket that the 'logs' come in is a great way of keeping the 'logs' neatly by the fireplace and I light them everytime I put the fire on. Great product!

I purchased this strictly out of curiosity and I am so glad that I did :) I had always hoped to travel to Ireland, specifically Lurgan, N. There’s something so comforting about the smell of a peat fire but it’s hard to find somewhere that sells the peat briquettes now, so coming across this incense was the next best thing! It’s a lovely gift and once we’ve finished this pack we’ll be ordering some more!

For the price of these incense you would think they would be exactly like in the photos but the item is much smaller that it looks in the photos. 28 tiny pieces which if it were on a stick would probably fit 3 sticks. Also, I expected it to really smell like the Peet from back home but instead it smelt like someone burning wood in a can at a construction site.
Totally not worth the price.

What is a Creel?
“A creel is a square or rectangular type basket made from sally rods or wicker grown locally for the purpose of carrying heavy loads of turf, seaweed or potatoes on a donkey's back. In olden times the creel was carried across the shoulders on a man's or woman's back.”
Each set includes 24 solid sods made to burn easily and slowly, filling your home with the original smell of an Irish cottage. Every creel basket is filled, tied and sealed in foil to keep the incense free from moisture.
These incense sods are made as exact miniature replicas of a real turf sod. As turf fuel is no longer sold in Ireland, this once distinct aroma is becoming harder to find.

The unique creel basket is made from 3D printed brown matt PLA plastic. It is solidly constructed and ideal for storing your turf incense when needed.

Slates are hand cut at approximately 8cm x 10cm. Each sod varies from 3cm to 4.5cm. They are natural products and will vary in size, shape and performance when burned.
